SCT Live Wire -vs- Sniper?
sup guys, i have a problem. I am looking to be getting longtube headers, along with some other mods and i hear that getting a custom tune before i do this wouldnt be wise. I jsut had my 4.10 gears installed and with them and the 315 tires, my spedo is way off. Should i just get the sct tuner, or go all out and get the Live wire or Sniper.
also which is better, Sniper or Livewire? thanks guys

I prefer the SCT and others Prefer the Sniper.
both are good tuners and I advice you buy the one that your tuning shop uses.

The lw is a lot of money, and the sct guy I bought my xcal2 from had the lw as well, but said it still wasn't doing everything sct advertised it to do. Untill they get it working properly it isn't worth the extra cash over the xcal2.
The guy I spoke to is called "dyno dan" in the Vegas area off the sct website.

Re: SCT Live Wire -vs- Sniper?
a little friendlier than SCT. Don't go near the Livewire yet because the firmware has too many problems. Livewire is a great concept but it's not ready for prime time yet. Stick with an XCL2 if you go SCT. Best thing to do is find out what your local tuner uses and buy that. |

my local shop uses sct but you have to pay to get different tunes and what not...it looks like to me that the sniper will allow you to input all new mods without having to pay the money for a new tune. I still stuck on it cause i mean, the xcal2 and sniper is around the same price so anyother opinions ill take.
ps . steve stang, you info helps cause ive heard from you and others that the livewire has faults so thanks

Oh man...can some one give a little more detail on the LiveWire, i just bought that (not installed yet). Does it just not live up to the HP/TRQ increase or does it cause actual problems with the car?????
