they are great transmissions as long as tremec puts them together properly.... whats done to the car the 600 should be more than strong enough for a mild street car.

tremec rates the tko 600 for 600 ft/lbs.... thats more than enough for a street car. or you can go balls to the wall and get a d&d bulletproof t-56. another suggestion would be the gt500 tranny

Its not worth it in my opinion if you drag race the car..... if you road race it maybe.... Overdrive on both transmissions aren't much different. I don't know maybe i just don't like a 6 speed i guess.

6 speed cars arent worth it in drag racing... its just more gears than you need. to me the tko-500/600 is pretty much the best solution for us, the mmr prepped ones look really nice too, with the tko-500 being modded to hold 750 ft/lbs. but lets be honest... how many of us make more than 500ft/lbs...600? to me 750 is a little overkill for what 99% of mustang drivers have.

a 5 speed may be better for drag racing but the tko 600 is notorious for being hard to go into gear at high rpms. the viper spec t56 shifts great and really isnt hard to race with. from everyone ive talked to the t56 seems to be a better all around transmission. and ddperformance is a good place to get it from. you wil get a kit with everything to install it

the tko-500 isnt a bad tranny though, and after everything is said and done its around $1000 cheaper than the t-56.

Thats because they need to be throughly inspected before installing them. Usually there is way too much play in the input shaft causing hard shifts.

thats a pretty good deal there... would be even better if it included installation and a warranty.

edit: does it come with the driveshaft to fit?
