FOCKING 3650

Posted this problem a while back and then it seemed to have gone away. Now its back with a vengance. My reverse is so freaking hard to shift into. Has anyone else had this problem with their 3650? I'm scared to take it to ford lol cause I'm not sure if my warranty is voided. Any help or solutions are appreciated

The 3650 is notorius for bad synchros. This shouldn't cause a problem with reverse though. You may want to try some Royal Purple or other synthetic fluid which may help some.

To get mine into reverse some times I have to push over and double clutch it to get it just right and slide it in. Hmmm, now that just about sounded x rated.

are you putting it in 1st before you go to reverse? This should be done every time you put it is reverse. There is a reverse lockout on the 3650s.

the problem is a lot more prevelant in 99-02 1/2 cars. even with over 500HP at the wheels my 3650 is holding up beautifully.

the reason reverse is hard to get into is because its NOT syncronized. With that said. the reason you shift into first is to get the gears aligned somewhat because reverse uses first gear to to duvert power to the reverse gear shaft.

oh and mine is going down hill fast.

Well actually the reverse is synchronized according to this website... http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English...ts/TR-3650.asp

Features:

* Center Distance - 85 mm
* Five-speed transmission with overdrive
* Two-wheel drive
* Advanced synchronizer design
* Optimized multi-rail shift linkage
* Improved shifter design
* Constant mesh, synchronized reverse
* End-load design with integral clutch housing

The earlier tremec's didn't have synchronized reverse but the 3650 does

still doesn't always work... sometimes you just have to jam that shit into reverse, sometimes you have to let the clutch out an inch or 2 and it'll grind a little into reverse too...

No If it still doesn't want to go into reverse sometimes you actually have to move the car foreward in first a couple of inches....
