bbk shorties

ive searched and i found alot of info but not exactly what i wanted...im debating getting a set of bbk shorties or longtubes, the shorties are more affordable and im leaning towards those but i was wondering what exactly is the HP gain id be sacrificing with shorties over LT's? is it just a matter of a few HP or is it a major difference? i was planning on going with a catted x and a magnapack catback with bbk shorties....should i just invest in the longtubes or get the shorties?

There's really not that much of a difference, longtubes give ya a few more hp while shorties give ya a few more torque... my mustang came with shorties but I was thinking about swapping them out for some longtubes because I never had a set before and I heard they're supposed to be good for superchargers...

Don't know where you're located at but if you plan on lowering it you might run into problems. I live in Florida and I see people scrape their LT's all the time. I got shorties b/c they are alot easier to install and I won't have clearance issues when lowering it. Plus I also hear that HP difference isn't too big. It might make a difference on a track car being built for crazy performance but for a DD with a little punch shorties will be fine. Save the $$ and buy some pullies.

I keep hearing that thing about the long tubes and clearance issues. I guess I'll find out soon...

I have long tubes and they will be a better choice if you have major plans for the future since they flow better than shorties. I'd say do it right the first time and get LT's.

Shorties are awesome for producing torque... They're also easier to work with and will help stay closer to legal emissions. LT's will fail inspection everywhere.
