I took off 2-3 tenths on my timeslips when I put in 3:73's But if you have never done gears, dont try it. Take it to a shop that specializes in rear ends, or I took mine to Ford and had them installed. I think it was about $300 for the install.

If you never did and dont ever do it youll never learn! Its not that hard you just have to be sure you get the spacing right so the gears dont bind or wore prematurely.

You also have to buy tools that cost more than an install would! Not worth it IMO, I will tear just about anything apart in my car except my rearend!

I would suggest at least having someone around that knows what they are doing with rear ends. Ive installed everything on my car besides the gears because all it takes is to be off a little bit and things get jacked up.

I "REALLY DO NOT" recommend installing gears yourself i you've never done it before. It requires a few special tools, a lot of patience, and EXPERIENCE. You could ruin a perfectly good set of gears if they're not installed correctly. It's usually something you dont do too many times so just pay to have it done. Its really not a big deal.
