Projector headlights H.I.Ds

Just picked up some brand new projector headlights for $100 locally and I want to put some HIDs in them. I want to order from DDM, and get this kit.

DDM Tuning 35W and 55W HID Kits

Since they are smoked, I should get 55w right? And 9007/HB5 low beam for bulbs also? I don't think I want the dual beam bulb. Do I need the harness, error eliminator, mounting brackets, etc for my projectors?

P.S... since my corners are clear should I invest in some switchbacks?

Is this going to be a retrofit or did you buy the housing and projectors combo like you can get from AM? Also, I have switch backs and love them. You'll need to buy a resistor for each side to prevent hyper flash.

They are the projectors from AM. I wish I could afford retrofit haha. Where did you get your switchbacks from?

You can get them from DDM also. I think AM might have them now too. Generally cheaper aftermarket headlights won't provide the same HID output as retrofits or legit projector assemblies. I run HID's through stock stuff.

I'm assuming the projectors will use the 9007 bulb, like the stock headlights

I'm pretty sure it's an led running light in the turn signal part of the headlight and then when you activate your turn signal it flashes amber, but I'm not 100% sure

You need 35 watt not 55! The 55 will get too hot and melt the projector lens. I have the raxiom smoked projectors with 6000k bulbs 35w and the light output is awesome.

yeah I got mine from DDM. I have HIDs in high and low beam. DDM has a lifetime warranty. Post a pic of the headlights and I can tell you what bulbs yo u need. If you are doing high and low beams you will need 4 slim ballasts, one for each bulb and the dual high/low wiring harness.

Pics of said projectors? IMO if it isn't a retrofit, it's rice.

Those projectors aren't true projectors btw. They are made for halogen bulbs. A car I can think of that is similar is Camrys. They have halogen projectors.

I've retrofitted in the past and it can be done for around $250. Much better result IMO

I got quoted around $500 for a retrofit. And it's the smoked projectors from American muscle

Smoked Mustang Projector Headlights (99-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
These?

I will say glue the shit outta the side rubber trim or it'll come off in a few months. I used 3M emblem adhesive to tack down the rubber. Also, make sure to seal them or they will leak. Putting HIDs in those lights are like mine, you have a screw holding down a retension pin and that keeps the bulb in the housing. Low beam isn't hard but I had one hell of a time getting the damn high beam bulb out for my HIDs. I ended up taking it to a professional installer to get it done correctly. Yours should look similar to mine on the inside.

Don't blame ya one bit. Just be sure they aim the beams properly. beam height should be no more than 24" off the ground at a 15-25ft distance. Otherwise you'll blind the shit outta people and not get the full use out of your low beams on the road. Hope all this helped!
