Saleen specs?

SCOA Specifications

After reading that, I'd almost rather have one of those than a termi.

But I thought the SC version only had 375 bhp, not 400+?

Sounds overly inflated. Maybe it's due to the "Saleen special crankshaft" or the "Saleen aluminum heads". Both of which would be factory Ford pieces.

Horsepower

The 2004 Saleen is a true muscle car by modern-day standards. The base-model S281 produces 290 horsepower at 5,100 rpm. The S281 S/C, which is the supercharged model, yields 375 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. Lastly, the S281 Extreme, which has upgraded cylinder heads and larger fuel injectors, produces 445 horsepower at 6,000 rpm.

Torque

Torque is the twisting power produced by the engine and relates directly to the acceleration of the vehicle. The 2004 Saleen S281 produces 390 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm. The S281 S/C model bumps the torque to 415 pound-feet at 3,500 rpm. The, heavily upgraded, S281 Extreme produces 450 pound-feet at 4,500 rpm.

The original msrp was north of $60k. I remember one at a car show with the window sticker still on. Nice yes, worth 60k, no.

The Saleen extremes are the nasty ones. Yet have the dual center exhaust. Very rare, really never see them around,

Looks like the extreme has forged rods, pistons, and crank too.

The one I saw at a show was "Liz Stick Red" (steve saleen's wife's name is Liz) with a light tan top and light tan leather. It was beautiful.
