Camshaft question

I was wondering what approx. hp increase you would get off of cams on a 4.6l 2v with say a 262 lift or whatever context you would use that in and if you need to remove the timing chain for installation.

I put Stage 1 Cams in my 01 GT. I got a 25hp increase at the powerband but when the stock cams started to fall off and lose hp and torque the Stage 1 cams kept the hp and torque thru to redline. At redline I was at a 50hp gain. This made me a little quicker cause I had an Auto, we set the shifts at 6700rpm which put me right at the max hp for the next gear.

I could easily tell the difference when the car shifted from 1st to 2nd and sometimes I could chirp 3rd if the road was not perfectly smooth. Cams were worth it in my opinion but remember the idle is alot rougher but man sitting at a light everyone around you knows that your car means business.

What kind of cam did you have (brand, lift, & duration), and how much low end power did you lose???
