Burning Oil

ok so in the last couple weeks ive made a post or 2 about how my car is slightly smoking. it doesnt smoke when im idling or hardly at all even when im driving. its after ive been idling for like a minute or 2 then i take off.. i notice it when i take off from lights, and thats what people that see it ahve been telling me... well i checkedd the oil today, the second time since it started smoking... the oil on the dipstick goes literally 2 inches passed the max line... could this be my problem? lol ive been told extra oil can make it smoke, but i could have sworn it was at normal level alst time i checked it

too much oil will in fact make your car smoke.

10-4. Too much oil = smoke. And 2 inches past the full line is WAY over filled. Drain some out.

Hmmm...also. If you think it was at a normal level before, and is now 2 inches past the full line, make sure that the oil on the stick is not foamy and doesn't stink like anything other than oil, as it's possible that you have coolant entering the crankcase, and this would be something to have checked out immediately.

All right that's good. Just drop some oil out of it so she's got the proper amount in her. Hopefully that fixes your problem.

You dont check the oil when its hot you check it when its cool so your getting an accurate reading of actually whats in there. You check tranny fluid when its hott lol.
