Mickey Thompsons

What is the tread life on a MT Drag Radial? too impractical for a daily driver? I'm interested in getting a set of 15" wheels and slapping some skinnies up front with some fat Mickey Thompsons out back. Looking for that mean Dragster look.

I've heard the Nitto DRs have long tread life for a DR. They are more practical for street driving.

MTs are no good for a daily driver. your best bet would be to get another set of wheels for the MTs because any DR is going to be a nightmare in the rain.

I have no problems with my Nitto 555R 315's in the rain unless I'm flooring it from a dead ass stop or flooring it into a corner. They last like 15k miles too...

but it will be much much easier to hydroplane with DRs. look at what happened to DrHoliday. he would just be better off buying a set of wheels with some MTs than risking it in the rain with DRs.

Rains everyday here and I haven't hydroplaned one time, make sure your tires have proper air pressure and you won't hydroplane.

If you are going to go that route I'd just get some real slicks instead of drag radials and some normal tires for the street.

Least I'm teaching people a lesson. But I wasn't on DR's I was just on some bald street tires. But after this I will never run DR's on a car if its raining.
