I bet it's pre detonation. Try high test for a little while. Is doing it only when your accelerating? I think it sounds like rocks or marbles in a tin can.

lol i just got this motor cuz a rod bearing went bad in my last one and ive been running good oil in this one and done everything good so i dont see how when it only has 18k that it could be bad since ive had it for about 2 months.

well when i was at the track and it was doing it i was using high octane. and it still does it now and im using 87

Why would you change the motor just cuz of a bearing? Couldn't repair it?

the price of the rebuild was quoted $2500. a used 15k mile motor i got for 2550 and my old motor had 65k on it. if i had the money i would rebuild it a and forge everying thing but i dont. i dont understand how i could possibly already be having trouble with another motor when i dont do anything different than other people.

Dude, I would have gone with the rebuild. Then you would have had 0 miles on it, compared to 15k.
