99-04 push start?

I know most of these are stupid and pointless but i was wondering if anyone knew of a push button ignition kit for a 99-00 or 01-04. Thanks

well there are the 05 kits, but to put it in any practical spot is impossible on our model unless you buy one of those gauge dash clusters and somehow put it into one of those. other than that, i wouldnt know

Well this is a popular mod for the dodge truck that are NOT the SRT 10, and it all depends on how you wire it, the guys that have done it to there truck on the dodge forum have it either way: Turn the key to the ON position then press the button to start and the key will also still start the truck, or make the button the only way you can start the truck!!! I have not seen one on our year mustangs though.....

IMO its a waste of time and money. it would be pretty cool but after a while it would get old.

It should be a similar set up as a remote starter, and I have seen those on mustangs. You probably just wire into whatever wires run to the ignition or the starter and install the button almost like a swith, so when the car power is on you hit the button and it engages the starter just like if you were to turn the key. This is all speculation but if you find out how to do it, post it, I was interested in that mod as well.

I saw a push start in a custom Mercedes once. No key needed. The guy had a chip that he carried in his wallet that when in close proximity to the car it will allow you to start the car. It also opens the door upon approaching the car. That was some pretty cool sh*t! Old rich guy and thier toys. Don't know what this has to do with your Stang.

They have that on alot of cars. The new Cadilac STS and CTS both have them as well as most of their SUV's. I think it's badass but would cost too much to put it in a mustang.
