Vortech 10psi 4.56 gears 5spd weight reduction 2step!!!!!!!

Get you're attention?

lol

Well i've finally decided to get off the juice and make my way to boost.

The car has been gutted of all seats and trunk interior trim to replaced with summit racing buckets. heater core entire a/c system pulled out, radio and such gone.

Need to sell the rest of this crap to finish purchasing everything, but heres a rundown of the set-up black being what i have, red is what i need

Suspension:
96 cobra 8.8
31 spline Moser axles
31 spline Strange spool
4.56 Motive gears
C-clip eliminators
Upper and lower control arms
Eibach Pro kit springs
KYB Gr2 shocks
tubular K-member

Motor:
Pacesetter Longtubes
Pacesetter X-pipe
Dynomax Race bullets dumped
Vortech V2 Kit 10psi
MMR 7qrt oil pan
anderson power pipe
BBK 78mm Throttle Body
Hi-Tech Blower cam
90mm MAF
40lbs injectors ?????
340lph fuel pump????
solid motor mounts

Things with ??? are uncertain still for obvious reasons.

Stuff i need advice on is tire selection. Obviously going with a 28" tire. Just unsure if with my suspension set-up should i go with a et drag radial, or et street cheater slick. now i know this is tricky cause sometimes a drag radial is better with certain set-ups compared to a cheater slick. dailly driving is not a concern also the rear being a 96 in a 99-04 body i don't think i can get away with more the a 275-60.

MSD 2 step or N2MB????? What i want is to be able to be consistent at the track as well as be into boost at launch. With a 4,500rpm launch think i will be able to see 8psi? with time I will replace the cheap suspension parts with better quality and performing parts meaning maybe higher launches.

Other than that i'll keep ya guys posted, pics will be rolling in soon i wanna get the motor out and a few things cleaned up before i start setting everything up.

let me know what ya think!

First off make your own powerpipe. You'll save a boat load and get a little more power. Also depending on the power you're wanting you might need a dual hat or BAP (the 340 is capable to 550~). As for injectors I'm guessing you're wanting big power so id go 60# injectors. Also the TB is not the restricter, the plenum is. So make sure you get a different plenum. As for the 90m MAF do not cheap out with the lightning MAF. It pegs easily and you'll most likely want the pmas slotted 05-09 MAF or the SCT BA MAF.

That covers most of it, but if you're truly looking for good times you should definitely look into suspension. Without it you're not goin to put much power down. Take f8l for example - 100% stock and he's running mid 12s. But he's got a helluva suspension.

Edit: Just noticed you have some suspension work done. Definitely get some flsfc before you hit the track. It'll help for sure and its pretty cheap (~$125 if you can weld yourself) and takes about 2-3 hours.

How did you possibly run the time of 12.67@110.34 on nitrous? If that is a N/A time then what was your N20 times? Just to let you know a 150 shot will usually out-perform a 10psi blown car if set up properly.

12.25 @ 111 mph w/ CMS stage II cams
10.95 @ 119 mph NX 150 shot
6.96 @ 102 1/8th mile
Best 60', 1.43

i ran 12.67@110 on a 125 shot about 3-4 years ago back then i had cheater slicks, h pipe and dumped bullets only on the stock everything and original 2001 motor. motor in the car now is from an 06 f150 2v since then i swapped exhaust and bought a jlt ram air, deleted the a/c and bumped to a 175

well really fugged up this run i just couldnt get my launch right cause im on a micro switch no wot or window switch. 4k launch car almost turned off finished the run in 4th 5,800rpm's

If your running all of this on the stock block, you won't need anymore than 42#'s, and a 300 lph pump.

What trans are u running? That would be my second concern next to the rear. As for tires slicks all the way. They are weigh less and why not have the best traction.

It would still be nice to have a N2MB hold the RPM rather than have it sky rocket. I power shift quick but it still gets in the red.

Ya, I figured he would say something like that. N2MB is still better. You can hook up to it and tune EVERYTHING, but a 2 step just has a dial on it.
