its weird between this forum and the v6 section its like two diffrent opinions on the same car

here i feel like ok my car is worth modding
i go there just to see what the hell is going on

and i see

gts are horrible
mach 1s are ok
cobras are the best

i guess i should just stay on this side of the forum if im ever going to try to convince myself to dump money into this car

neither of them are horrible. obviously the cobras have the better engines to start with but they have irs and for most of us that isnt what we want. they are all nice and worth modding in my opinion.

well i have 02 gt thats the one i want to mod...simply because i always wanted to mod something its paid off so i dont have to worry about a car note on top of part expenses...but still thats alot of money and i dont want to mod something that in turn is just going to be not as fast id rather dump the money in a savings acct for a 2010 cobra,saleen,etc and be happy

And anyway, v8, you can do some really nasty shit to those S197 6ers. I mean, shit, they make 215 horse & run 15 second 1/4 miles out of the box. It wasn't so long ago that GT's were running those numbers. So remember, you can please some of the people some of the time, and everyone else can fuck off.

err not to familiar with the mustang engine names but are you speaking of the newer v6 engine?

thanks for the compliment. yea i love running cobras...not saying i can beat all of them but they dont like it when i do. a coworker of mine got all butthurt when i beat his pullied and slightly modded cobra. he thought it was the shit and there was no way i would outrun him.

I can tell you, the power of the car is defined by the motor, not by it's design. Whether it's a 85 impala or a 2009 Mustang, the engine will decide it's level. I say put the money into your motor and make it better. Unless you want to change the looks... I mean, our model is not the worst looking ever, and it looks like the new model will stay around for the next generation of Stangs....

it's not that GT's are garbage, it's just the harsh reality of owning one: they're not very fast stock. it sucks, but these cars are very easy to mod. if you want to drive one stock and you're happy, cool. it's just that it seems like no matter how fast it is, you always want more. when i first got mine, it was the first car i owned that had any real power to it. at first, it scared the crap out of me. now i'm used to it and i want more. i want that feeling back lol
