Re: Cobra Big Brake Kit Problems
Are you sure you got them correct? (I have not done this upgrade but I remember reading this somewhere, please correct me if I am wrong) 2. You should spray off the rotor with brake cleaner because they put a coating of oil on it at the factory to prevent rust and it will contaminate your pads. Generally no harm is done because it burns off, but next time spray the rotor off before driving the car. |

Brake cleaner? Ok...Yeah I actually thought it was the dust sheild, in fact a little while ago I went out and bent the close sections away from the rotors just to be safe, thought I dont think that was it. What I DO know is that while installing them, I got a little brake fluid on the rotors, I hope that wont hurt them. As soon as I finish bleeding the system (Ive been at it for three days on and off) Ill drive it and see if it goes away. It is a tight fit though, what it sounds like is the rotor rubbing against the either the caliper or the brake pads, mostly it sounds as if its coming from INSIDE the system meaning somewhere where the caliper housing meets the rotor. Anyway, the brake lines are actually the same in this kit... I dont know if the kit was put together wrong in the box or what but the two hoses have the same measurement on the connecting end, does'nt matter I reused my stock lines and they obviously should do fine with the new kit. Thanks Ill let you know what happens tomorrow. Greg
