Rim and tire question
I see some mustangs around with the wheels that have the pretty good size lip on them. I am looking at getting a set of them and was wondering what the size on them are and if anybody had pics of theirs. My car is a 00 GT. and I want somethin with more of a lip than the factory ones I have. Thanks

the factory wheels are 8" wide. the rims you're talking about are probably deep dish. DD's are 10.5 inches wide. most guys put 315's on that size rim. my bullitt's are 17x9 and i'm running 255's in front with 275's in the rear. when i get my DD's, i'll slap some 315's in the rear with 255's up front.

popular size pics are the 275/40R17's in the fronts, either in Bullitt or FR500 Style...Then the 315/35R17's in the rears with the same styles as stated for the front. Personal taste comes into play once you start looking for what you want...American Muscle has some decent customer pics of the styles i was talking about, check them out. |

you might have problems with a 275 up front if your car is lowered.

Black DD Bullitt Rims - 17x9 w/ 1" lip in the front and 17x10.5 w/ 2" lip in back. Tires - 275's on the front and 315's on the rear. I only went with 275's because I had extra's and didn't feel like buying new tires right now. But I would go with 255's in the front. Check out O E WHEELS in the ebay store category. They have SICK prices. I ordered from them and love what I got. If I'm not mistaken so did Mikeinta and a few others on this forum did too...

yeah I saw that OE Wheels on there last night and I was gonna ask if anybody on here has their product and if they were any good so I guess that answers my question. Did you get your tires from them also? and if so do they mount and balance them also? What are the size of the 255's?

Yeah...255/45/17's. O E WHEELS is good to go. The only thing is it took me about 2 1/2 weeks to get my rims, granted, they were out of stock and what not but for the price....def. worth the wait. And not a scratch on them. They ship their products well. I didn't get tires from them. I went to Tire Tack and got two 315/35/17 from sumitomo for $90 each and free 2nd day delivery. And AutoZone, Pepboys, etc. should be able to mount and balance pretty cheap.

I apologize, I don't think autozone will mount tires...

I looked on tire rack and they are gonna charge shipping and for the same tire I can buy them here for like 20 bucks more and that includes mounting and balancing.
