Forged shortblocks..
Alright.. so lately ive been reading some mm&ff and different websites and such still trying to decide what to do w/ my car as far as a power adder goes.. well no matter which one i look at.. alot of the ones running the higher numbers all say something about a forged shortblock.. what exactly does this mean? just forged rods, pistons or what.. sorry if this seems dumb.. im still learning about cars lol

rods pistons crank. Basically. You dont have to get a forged block unless you going to run a lot of nitrous or boost. Can run 9 pounds on a stock bottom end.

im building right now..im lowering the compression to 9,3,1 cuz im boosting it so forged rods and pistons..now some say get a cobra crank cuz there iron or something and some say ours is fine and never seen nothing happen to em so im using mine..and getting boost cams..and getting heads either ported and polished or stage 2 vt heads..

forged pistons and h-beam rods. the stock crank is good to 600, after that you will need to invest into a forged crank. the block will handle whatever you will throw at it as long as it is prepped right.

When I told my tuner a while ago about the plans to build the motor, he said to keep my crank. No need for the extra weight. It's good for 650 HP. They've seen more, but they have seen them fail after that point too...
