70 mm 75 mm throttle body

I am currently looking at the Jlt cold air intake what is the best size throttle body and plenum acufab is what i was looking at. Is it true that 75 can hurt the performance of the car should i wait and just get cold air intake?

If you plan on modding your car with fi or nitrous then get the 75. I made the mistake of getting the 70 then 500 miles later got a blower :p So yeah...
i think if you do cams and heads the 75mm would be better too... but dont quote me on it.

Ya know, I've heard the same thing. Personaly I don't understand how a larger TB can hurt your performance. And if a larger TB really does hurt your performance, I don't see how a 5mm difference is gonna be that big of a deal. Now I can see the 75mm not being any more beneficial then the 70mm with minimal upgrades because your engine just won't be suckin' that much air, but to hurt perfromance... I have a hard time beleaving that.

If anyone can prove that it hurts performance, please educate me because I would love to know why it hurts your performance.

If your not doing any engine work 75mm can actully hurt you or no gains at all, just not enough flow. some will tell you dont waster money on 70mm jsut get the 75, so your gonna have to decide that one.

I realize it says it in the sticky, but it still doesn't explain why. Just saying something doesn't make it true.

Get the 75. I don't know where people get the information that it will hurt performance. It may not help performance, but it will not hurt you.

AC is right! It won't hurt you at all. People that say that are just wording it wrong. They just mean that you won't benefit from it, because your cars not forcing enough air to utilize it's full performance poetential. So as far as harming your car, or it's engine etc, it won't. All it will do is sit there waiting for more upgrades, and it will take better to them. Plus it will save you on having to upgrade later on, especially if you plan on getting S/C, Turbo, or NOS.

No, it doesn't make sense. The guy who typed that does not understand how a computer measures and controls air/fuel. No matter how much air goes through the TB, it must come through the MAF first- which is what measures the air volume and determines the amount of fuel the engine will receive.

Ah... yes, well that makes yet even more sense.

I know this may sound like a stupid question... but i just ordered the typhoon intake and tb kit off ebay. it didnt come with an upper plenum. would the stock one work or would it just restrict the flow back down?
