2003 cobra

At my local toyato dealership they have an 03 cobra, it has less than 10,000 miles on it and is a red convertible. They want 29 and some change. Could probably talk them down a bit. How good of a deal do you think this is. Thanks, Chuck.

Not sure about where you live, but here it's a bit on the high end...

Well, it's a vert... You can always fight it down, but it might be a good price.

Too high of a price IMO. I don't see the point of paying close to the original retail price for a car thats just about 5 years old, seeing as 08 cars are already out at most places. But do what ya want man, if ya feel it's worth it to you, then go for it.

yo do this.. get on yahoo!.. go to Yahoo! Autos.. click Kelly Blue Book pricing and give them all the details of the car.. then print out the results and take that to the dealership and tell them that it aint worth no more than that.

It depends on where you live too. Here in NY alot of dealerships love to overcharge people for Mustangs. A few weeks back Nemer Ford had a 1997 Mustang Cobra with 105,000miles for $13,995. Shit is outrageous. I don't care if it's a Cobra, it's not worth that kinda money for the year & amount of miles it has.

Most dealerships & banks seem to use the NADA book more often though for pricing. Or atleast on the eastcoast anyway.

That's the problem, since it's the only one around, they want to jack it up!
Anyway, who was the idiot that traded a Cobra for a Toyota?

Base price for clean retail, is $24,100 on NADA, so I might look elsewhere if I were you, or try to get them to lower the price.

Yea I know, thats why it's the base price, but I myself know that I wouldn't pay more than $25-26,000 for that car. A few grand more than the base price is fair, and even somewhat generous. But 5 grand more?? Get outta here, i'd just asume buy a LS1 for cheaper, and still have money enough to add some serious power, and be able to destroy Cobras.

unfortunately thats not how the car buisness works...

the detailer has to be paid who works on that car...
what about the tech who works on it, assuming she's unharmed, he's still gotta to once over the car......
tires......she's a cobra, 90% of the time u need rears.....
then there's the salesmans commision....if she's financed u go through a finance officer,
oh, and lets not forget the dealership, which absolutely has to make money on the car so they can pay for utilities, and insurance.

Trust me bro, I know eaxctly how the business works. And still the price is way too high. I have seen Cobras of the same year for cheaper, with close to the same amount of miles. So nothing you say is gonna convince me that it's ok to rip people off. And like I said, when you can get a 02 Camaro SS with 29,000 miles like I saw a little while back for $17,000, I would just buy that if I had $30,000 to spend. Because with the other $13,000+, and considering insurance would be cheaper, less on taxes, and interest etc.., you could not only make a Cobra killer, but even a Z06 killer for that matter with all the extra money you saved.

i'm not saying it's ok to rip people off....... never did i say that

and never was i disagreeing with ur statement of 3 grand more...

i think u took me a little out of context....

i was saying that dealerships are scumbags....dodges keyboards......they jack up prices so much hoping some idiot will come in...

i was listing everything because they do have a bottom line on what they will not except for a car.

tires, a quick once over, and commision on that said car is gonna be atleast a grand.

anything hirer then 26,5 just pretty much depend on how much scum ur stealership sucks

It's all good bro, I was stating some facts & opinions, and in reality, I don't know about you, but I would def rather own the SS Camaro. It doesn't lack that much in power in comparision, and it's almost alway's alot cheaper too, so basically it's more bang for your buck.
