Well I don't know about feathering the Clutch.
But deff take it to the rev limiter (Without bouncing off of it) in first and about 6000 in 2nd after that I'd take third to 6000 so You don't shift again.

You don't want to take it to the rev limiter because you lose power before it, to keep it in the most powerful range shift at 5800 for a GT, unless you have high rev cams that will widen your power range.

And as for launching on street tires is this on the street or track? If for the street get some Nitto 555r 315's for your rear tires, they hook up awesome on the street and are the longest running drag radials I ever seen... for the track go with mickey thompsons.

At the line, I rev to 2500 then feather the clutch and gas. Seems to get me rolling with little tire spin and a quick 60ft. But never take it to the rev limiter. As stated unless you have a higher cam you actually lose power once you get close to rev limiter.
If you have Dyno'd the car look at the graph, once you see the curve starting to go back down shift just a hair pass that to put you in the next gear right at the start of your max power. If you haven't dyno'd your car look at some of the Dyno sheets for your year car and mods, will give you a very rough estimate of where to shift but for me I shift 1st to 2nd at 6k and 2 - 3rd at 5800 and 3rd to 4th at 5800. But yeah the Nitto's are just great tires. |

I am similar to Dallas01GT, because I launch at about 2800-3000 on street tires. I usually shift at about 5500-5700 because I can tell when my car is losing power by listening to the exhaust. My Magnapacks are very loud at WOT, but when I get too high in the RPMs I can hear them start to go down, that's when I shift.
