Smoke Inside Car

ok i have an 01 cobra with about 37000 miles on it. I just bought it and i finally got on it today. Smoke from inside the car came out when i was shifting the car. When i stopped it went away. I had it in third and stop and was shifting at about 6000 rpm. Any input would be great

ya sort of and it was coming out near like the shifter area. I could not exactly tell. Ya and it had a weird smell to it. Does that mean the clutch is gone in the car

what color was it? you defenatlyy dont want to what i did thinking i was burning my tires! It was a good lesson learned when I first got the car, and now I know how to do a burn out a lot better! The clutch was on its way out anyay!

i removed the stock shifter and put i new 5.0 pro shifter and i noticed it was really dirty. Brought it to a mechanic and they told me it was tranny fluid and that must have been the smoke. I think i need to get the tranny flushed and put new fluid in there
