youll need to have those heads looked over by an experienced shop. there is only one shop out there that sets up the springs right and thats shm! those heads and cams will make power but will be very hard to tune down low and will soung great at idle but will not be real driveable at low rpms. stage 3 usually only make about 15-20 hp ver the stage 2! stock plugs should be okay on that setup, fuel rails will also be okay! id like ot hear your car after you get em on. gonna sound badass!!

If your gonna be revving high I'd really suggest going with forged rods (and might as well pistons). I assume you'll want to rev to at least 7k rpm to take advantage of those heads and cams and I wouldn't be comfortable doing that on the stock stuff.

i wouldnt either. i revved mine to about 6800 and if you look in the thread about my blown motor, you can see what that does to a stock engine!

man i say go for broke, i revved my car to 8k with the blower on with a stock block, and it made 18 pounds of boost lol. WHT00Gt can attest to that

Re: Head upgrade question
Thank you for the help you guys, i didnt know that about the powerband. So where is a good place to shop for forged rods and pistons? The website i have shopped for the last 6 months doesnt go below top half of the motor. If i were to send the stage 3 cams i have back and get stage 2's instead would this eliminate the need for forged rods? Thanks again, and im glad i found this site.

youll be fine right now with those heads and cams on the stock motor, but if you decided to put a s/c on it or some nitrous, your gonna need to do something with the bottom end. i think youll make somwhere around 325 hp with those mods. but then again if you really want to take advantage of the heads and cams its not gonna hurt! i would suggest dss racing, vt engine, or coast high performance. they all have very good and experienced shops and could hook you up with anything you need!

Head upgrade question...
Im from Grand Rapids, MI originally, but am an active duty Army Mechanic stationed in Ft. Hood, TX when i am stateside. I have 3 months to go in Baghdad, IQ. I dont have all the parts installed yet, just formulating a plan for when i get back. I have a bunch of bolt ons in boxes waiting for me when i get home, driving my wife and mother crazy. But you made a good point Stangliter04 about havin the heads off and doing the pistons and rods all at the same time, think thats which direction i will go, thanks again all
