Hey guys i have a 2000 stang gt with the cobra brake kit on there, and i just recently changed the two 13" cross drilled rotors and brake pads and after a week of driving it i notice they start to squeak when i brake lightly, it never done that before, is that normal?

make sure you "seat" or "bed" the pads correctly. that could be your problem. find a nice stretch of open road where you can do 5 to 10 50-10mph slow downs, enough to heat up the brakes GOOD (you will smell them if they are indeed brand new), then drive for 10-15 minutes (ideally on a freeway) at highway speeds to cool them down. This heating of the pads, so long as they aren't overheated (glowing is not good when it comes to street brakes), will let the brake pad material "bed" or coat the surface of the rotor. This is not only fun, to stomp on the brakes and see how good your car can stop, but it also helps condition your new brake's stopping surface, enabling you to get 100% maximum stopping capability out of them. It also does help reduce brake squeal.

Also, 13" Cobra front brakes FTW
