street races are fine.

I use spacers on my car.

just check the lugs once in a while.

EDIT: I'm not saying street racing itself is a good idea

Are wheel spacers necessary? I'm planning on putting 10.5 rims with 315/25-17s on the back of a 2000 Mustang GT. Will wheel spacers be necessary?

25 side wall .. wow .. talking bout "ridin" rims .. you can easily run 315 35 17 .. and if you go with a standard mustang rim in a 10.5 you won't need wheel spacers ...

I just put 10.5 with a 315/35/17 and in my opinion I wouldnt put wheel spacers on unless you wanna have your wheels stick out past your fender. I think the 10.5 with the 315's looks very good. And I think he put in a typo with the 315/25/17 well lets hope he did because I dont think it would look good riding on a rubberband of a tire.

Can't type. Can't proofread either. I meant 315/35/17.

I just discovered this forum will not let you edit out these little embarassing mistakes.

I was planning on running the current 245/45/17s. I've read that 275s sometimes interfer with the steering.

I run 275's in the front

and 275's are the stock tires on a Cobra on all 4 corners.

275s, it is then. It's what I wanted in the first place, but I didn't want problems.

Well if I plan on track tires and wheels, that will only be used to drive to the track, at the track, and home, and I need to have a spacer up front to clear the brakes then is that alright?

I would think so.

I would worry more about having a spacer on the rear.

Uhm, I wouldn't cut shit off my brakes... I'd just run a wheel spacer up front, it's the rear tires that launch the car and that's how shit breaks...
