00 gt ticking

i went and test drove a 00 gt and from about 2300k-5000 it was ticking, but it was not very loud...could barley hear it. Are these known for valves ticking or push rods or lifters... are the 00 gts known for any of these. just trying to find out if it will be to much money to sink into the car

if its making any kind of ticking sound, valves/lifters whatever, just walk away.Could be exhaust leak, but why risk it...Or take it to a mechanic first and have them check it.

63000 miles and want $9600 but said would come done to accommodate for the problem.. seems like a clean car other than that and been well taken care of...also its not an exhaust leak we looked at it close enough and the sound you could tell was lifter/valve

they could accomodate the problem by putting a heavier weight oil in it to quiet the ticking...you never know

hmm...

have him stick a can of sea foam in it before you buy it.

if the guy really wants the sale he will spend the $15.00 to do it.

+1 on the exhaust leak. Could also be the fuel injectors.
