Intake Manifold Recall

A known problem for our cars, my intake manifold cracked on the plastic crossover. I was stupid, and went ahead and bought a new one, and replaced the whole thing myself, without knowing of the recall on them.

My question is: Can I still bring my car with the new and old manifold to Ford, with the paying for the new one since the recall?

If the one you have now still has the plastic crossover then I would go over there and say that it is leaking and you want it replaced. If the new one you bought has the aluminum crossover.....sounds like you missed out. It sucks bro... Give it a try, the worst they can do is say "no".

Oh yeah... They sure as hell won't give anyone money. They'll just replace the crossover if it is still the plastic one.

Nope...whole intake manifold needs to be replaced since the plastic was a complete one piece...my nearest dealer try to screw me out of $850, and saying that the revised intake manifold was SPECIAL and UNIQUE to the '99-'00 GT's...

So i just bought the PI intake from AM and manifold gaskets and called it a day...saved $700.

But back on subject...i was informed that the replacement of the manifold only went for 3 months or so...after that you were basically SOL...since i tried to get that recall myself when mine cracked from the thermo housing. All they said was..."Sorry that recall has ended".
