Rear quarter panel question
I saw one on 50resto.com and i was wondering if anyone had replaced theirs before or if they got a shop to do it and how much it cost them. there is bondo all around my side scoop from god knows what, and the side scoop doesnt fit in properly, so to ease my mind, im getting a whole new rear quarter panel, i just wanted to find out before i did it.

Thats allot of cutting and welding and painting . Might be easier to just have the area in question replaced instaed of the whole panel.

Well its the sidescoop area, and im not so sure they sell panels just in that area, so I figured that was my only option. its bugging the shit out of me regardless.

I am sure the shop can just remold the side scoop to fit flush for a lot less money.

Get the section cut from a junk yard car as long as it's rust free it should'nt be a problem. Trust me cutting and undoing all the factory welds and seams on the entire panel will be time consuming which = expensive.

yeah but in most cases they'll need to repaint the whole quarter fender, and just to get the one side scoop painted was $80

Repainting the whole fender and having the whole fender removed and reinstalled then repainted is a different story.

You pay for supplies(paint, filler, sanding equip) and most of all time. I've had many a car repainted or worked on.

It is hard to give an accurate quote till the area in question is stripped and looked at and parts prices are calculated.

yeah i dont even know if its bondo'ed in there or if its welded and sanded and got warped from welding so they bondoed it, or what, which was why i was going to just buy the quarter fender but that is alot of work.
