Diameter

Alright.. three things ill be getting next for the car 1) tires 2) alarm system 3/4) gears or exhaust

well about exhaust diameter.. stock 2.5 is what i have now.. but this mechanic that works at my day job told me that i could upgrade to a custom 3" system and relieve some backpressure.. my goal is to turbo my car to somewhere between 450 and 600 horses.. 3 inch a good idea? if so what size headers should i go with? .. also, the mufflers that are on my car.. im pretty sure they're flowmaster original 40s.. i want something deeper and all.. is there a big difference between original 40s and super 44s? im not usually a fan of flows on stangs cuz so many have em and ive changed my muffler ideas about 1000000 times but im trying to have what i want planned so when the time comes ill just go to the shop and be like "this is what i want" and slap down the cash after theyre done

The 3" Exhaust won't help you, maybe even hurt you as of right now. But yes it will be helpful once the turbo setup is on there.

+1 It will be great once the turbo is on though.

i got some of the super 44s havent put them on yet been working out of state and i think the diff is they have a thinner case to give better ground clearance i wouldnt go as far as sayin the 3" pipe will hurt you bet it wont make a diff and on the muffler just go to every mustang you like the sound of and ask the guy what hes runnin imo performance out of a muffler is minimal when comparing performance mufflers to performance mufflers and if your really gonna go turbo look into the setup you want it may come with header and a portion of the downpipe so just go from there on out

i know that turbo manifolds are different from shorties and the stock manifold but will the 3" setup be a waste if i cant get headers that are big enough? what i mean is if the headers arent flowing enough or as much as needed of exhaust gases for the 3 inch pipes would it be a waste?

as far as mufflers go, i want something with alot of low rumble in it but still a good tone.. and i know most of the time the videos people post of their cars and its exhaust dont usually pick up the low tones very well :-/

gas wants to escape so by enlarging diameter it should flow faster to a point but i dont think n/a with these cars it would matter i would just buy a prefabbed x or h pipe and call it good and worry about the other stuff later

How long until you get the turbo set up? If we are talking years down the road the 3" tubing will relieve back preassure alright. it will also relive you of some serious torque and possibly some HP. If the turbo set up is months away wait until then. With that said the best sounding exhaust I heard as of recently was a prochamber with Borla Stingers. I have to say it sounded better than my car and I love my magnapacks. The only thing is with a turbo set up you will want the best flow possible and that means X pipe.

honestly, the turbo setup will probably be several months down the road because i want to get rid of some payments i have now by paying them off

would it be a waste to get some lts.. just for sound.. cuz i know ill have to get rid of them when i go turbo.. the reason i dont want to s/c this one is because i want the ability to keep this car more streetable and not get 12mpg.. since the turbo wont be a constant parasitic loss of power and gas mileage i figured it would make more sense even though s/c and all would be cheaper in the long run

and yeah i dig ur exhaust neckbonekat havent heard the other
