Engine Balancing

Im planning a head swap soon, and with some questions i posted on the board, it was suggested to upgrade my Pistons and Rods with forged parts. Im all for more power so i looked them up and one sight i went to said with the forged upgraded pistons, engine balancing is a must. How much in depth do i need to go? I dont want to go too deep as in block. I was just hoping to add Pistons and Rods. For the engine to be balanced should the crank, fly wheel, harmonic balancer, all be replaced with equal parts? Anyone know of any lower kits out there that have all the components forged and balanced?

you wont have to replace all of thsoe parts, youll jast have to have them balenced to within everything else/ if your going to spend the moeny on the new rods and psitons it would be wise tp have it balanced. it will make the rotating assembly much tighter and last a lot longer. in high horsepower applications, the more balanced the better!

your th one who has the stage 3 heads and casm right? we suggested you do the rods and postons to take advantage of the high rpms that those heads and cams will work with. if your tuning those kimd of rpms without a balanced motor. it is seriouly not going last long at all.

Engine Balancing

yup thats me with the patriot performance stage III's and im from Grand Rapids MI, and Killeen Texas(which is near Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas areas). Any places near any of the places i listed that do the install? I could probably do it myself but i dont have all the tools, and dont wanna jack it up. How much do installs like that run?

hp performance in dallas is always a good shop! or come up to oklahoma city and go www.swtuning.com he used to be down in austin as CCS tuning so im sure youve heard of him. i dont know how much something liek that would cost. it might be cheaper to just buy a short block thats allreayd done form a place like dss racing, or vt engines, or coast high performance
