Rear axle

What would cause your rear axle to not be centered under your car? I have a friend with a 2001 gt and it appears that his axle is sitting off center to the right a little.

i would suggest you go buy an angle finder with a magnetic base at your local hardware store for like $5 and stick it on the drive shaft and see whats going on there, cause like HMUSN said, that bitch should be at or nearly at dead center, unless its been hit.

Control arms are theonly form of centering for the solid rear axle. The lowere do most of the centering and the uppers control forward roll. Soo tel that dude to buy some aftermarket rear control arms and call it a day.

He hasn't owned it that long. So you think lower control arms will fix it?

Am I the only one. Those arent stock lower control arms ya got there. Im wondering if there are adjustable control arms on top and they are way out of wack.

a friend of mine had the same problem, it was the upper control arms that were bad. if the car has been abused badly, the torque boxes might be shot.
