STAY AWAY FROM RPM OUTLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone just wanted to stop by and say HELLO!!!! and give my two cents about RPM OUTLET!!!!!
I ordered about $1200 worth of parts from them about a month ago and that transaction went fairly good except for the Moto Blue fuel rails I am still waiting for.... so that wasn't too bad. But then about 10 days later I spent another $2100 and I ordered Pat Performance II heads, pypes O/R X pipe, Pypes cat-back w/ violator Muffs and comp cam adj. cam gears, so next came the nightmare!!!! The heads were on back order for God knows how long, the cat-backs and cam gears are also on back order, but they did have the X pipe witch I got in about 7 days. So i call about the heads and the rest of the order....WTF!!! the help desk should be called the "NO HELP DESK!" She says oh the heads are on back order for a couple of weeks, but the cat-back and gears will be at their place in two days. Okay so I tell her cancel the heads but send me the gears and cat-backs. Well she says oh u will have to cancel the order online. So I go to cancel the heads online, and I get a confirmation from them via email that my request have been sent and they will send me the confirmation in 24 hours. 24 hours later NOTHING, 48 hours later NOTHING, 72 hours later NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So i call again, talk to the sales people, at least he tried but he said he did not have the means to help me and told me to call the "NO HELP DESK" again. So i call the desk, explain the situation again, she says oh we did not receive a cancellation form from u!!!! So instead u need to fill out the online return form.... WTF!!!! I say why, I don't need to return them I need to CANCEL them, I don't have the FN' heads yet!!!!!! Oh and also now she doesn't even know when the cam gears and cat-backs will be shipped!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHGGG!!!!! So back to the online form, I fill out the return form....and again "WE WILL CONFIRM THE RETURN WITHIN 24 HOURS" 24 hours NOTHING, 48 HOURS NOTHING!!!!! So again I call the sales dept, I ask him to speak to either a supervisor or owner, it was near their closing time and he said they were not there, but he gave me their names and to call them on Tuesday which I will be doing!!!!!!! So even though I am not sure if the heads have been canceled yet, I made another order with SUMMIT.... and guess what.... they heads were here in two days... yes the shipping cost more from SUMMIT, but at least they do not give u a nervous breakdown!!!!! When I call on Tuesday and if I get to speak to someone in charge I am hoping they will get me the cam gears and cat-backs here by this coming Friday. If they cannot, or I dont get to speak to a person in charge I will cancel the rest of the order, and order the Fidenza gears and cat back from SUMMIT or LATE MODEL RESTO, I have never had a problem with either of these companies. Oh yeah and who knows where my fuel rails are that's another problem all together. Okay I am done now, I do like the cost of the shipping from RPM, it is cheap, I am not sure exactly how they do it. But as far as customer service or getting your parts to you they are FN' TERRIBLE. So do yourself a favor and stay away from that company!!!!!!!!!!! Something that would make them better is if they would let you know when u order something online that it is on back order prior to u ordering it, at least SUMMIT and LRS let u know first!!!!

+1 on that dude. I know how you feel. But of course their excuse for not letting you know stuff is on backorder is that they have a lot of customers and you should've emailed first. Duh....lol!! That really sucks. Hope you end up gettin all your stuff and hope that they don't mix shit up.

+2. I wish you well in your dispute and hope that you didn't pay up front.
I ordered a Professional Products TB/Plenum for $239. They shipped me the C&L RMP Plenum which lists for $199 but invoiced me $239. I didn't want the part so I called them... several times before someone answered. They couldn't help so I was transferred to someone who also didn't answer. I finally got through and was told I would get an e-mail with the return authorization. I asked when the correct parts would be shipped and was told, "We'll ship them when we get them." I didn't want to wait forever and asked for a refund. I never received the return authorization so I went throught the same thing the next day. Same guy said he would send me the return authorization. I received nothing. On the back of the invoice it said all sales final after 15 days. I'm starting to get worried because it had been about 6 days from the invoice date. It also said that you had to request returns authorizations on-line. I did and receive a return authorization. It said that if you used it you could only get a credit. They do not do refunds. I called my credit card company and filed a protest. They told me that I had to get the wrong parts back to the company and to use the return authorization. They would override the "no refund" policy. So I used it and shipped the wrong parts back UPS. UPS tried to deliver them twice. RPM Outlet refused to accept them twice. I went though the process of calling again, and asked why. They said I didn't have the appropriate paperwork. I told them it was in the carton. They don't open cartons. I repackaged the wrong parts with the appropriate paperwork attached to the outside of the box and reshipped via UPS. This time they accepted the shipment. It was day 13. I then received a letter from the credit card company telling me that RPM Outlet won the protest because they have a "no refund" policy and the parts they shipped me were functional. I called the credit card company and talked to a woman who didn't know squat about cars. She told me that they could not over ride the store's policy. She seemed stuck on whether the parts were functional or not. They were probably functional, but they were not what I ordered. I finally made her understand with an analogy. I asked her if she had ordered and paid for a silk dress and received a cotton dress, is it functional? She refiled the protest but told me RPM Outlet would have an opportunity to respond. Its still not over. I may still end up with a credit instead of a refund. You need to make absolutely sure that your order has been cancelled because if they ship on that order you may never get your money back.

I hope they leave this one in this section instead of moving it to the vendor review section few people know exsist on this site. I think this is important for people to know. I order my Bassani X pipe from them with no issue but that was one thing that comes all in one box. I think the problem with them is they don't handle thier own merchandise. I think they use drop shippers and have no control of what goes out when. I had the same issue when I used to have an ebay store with a drop shipper. You write them, they write the supplying warehouse's customer service, the warehouse's customer service contacts the actual workers to see if /what shipped and then it all goes in reverse. It takes like a week just to answer a question. Definitely make sure your order is canceled because many of those supplying warehouses will not return orders after they leave the warehouse. I think all the people from this site should contact the better business bureau. I think with all the people from this site plus alot of guys on here are on other forums too I'll bet we could get together a significant number of people with similar experiances to get them to take immediate action. Mod parts aren't cheap!

+10 .
A friend of mine purchased an Accufab TB/Plenum combo from them and when he received it you could tell it was B-Stock (Used). The screws were chewed up and the wrong nipple (for his car) was already installed instead of being in the plastic bag which looked like a baggie instead of the one that should have been in the box. He spent 2 weeks trying to send it back and finally called his credit card company and filed a dispute. Eventually he got his money back. Make sure you do all communication in writing and if you must talk with someone, keep a log of who/when and what you talked about. Good luck! |

Have been buying from them since I bought my first CAIall the way up toa full PI swap with heads, intake, etc... Didn't have problem with them and never have. Their service department's phones do suck, that is true. I'm not saying thay are the best company but I always give my 2 cents. But this is also why you should purchase ANY, and I say again ANY orders over the internet with a credit card. I had a similar problem with a store off of Ebay with my motorcycle. They gave me the run around for about 2 weeks and I told them if they didn't refund me or the product wasn't shipped within the next 24 hours, I was going to screw them with the payment. I notified my bank to give them a heads up and to start a claim but not fully process it, just to have it on file. Needless to say they blew me off. So I just sat tight and abuot 2 weeks later when I got confirmation the product was shipped, I got it about 5 days after that and I retracted the payment...and kept the product.
Moral of the story is that to cover your ass, use a creit card, or at least a debit card that has that little hologram on it. That means it is backed by that credit company up to a certain dollar amount. Usually $1k. I've never had a problem with RPM and I just wanted through that out there. I'm also not trying to prove anyone wrong or justify anything. That shit was jacked up what happened and that's why I always try to cover my ass. Sorry for you getting screwed.

Even using a credit card may not protect you.
I didn't order on their web site. I placed my order from an ad in Modified Mustangs magazine and didn't know about all of their terms and conditions. After I went to their web site to get the return authorization, I looked at their terms and conditions. At one time I thought it said that they authorized substitutions if a part was backordered. They've changed their web site and I couldn't find it now. I did read that they charge 15% for returns and 5% for cancelling backordered items.

A credit card should ALWAYS recredit. That is the one of the purposes of a credit card. If you read the your credit contract it says that it protects you from "valid customer unsatisfaction" pending an investigation. And all an investoigation really is, is to just review your dredit info to see if this is a reacurring thing, and also to see if they have any previous complints from other customers. VERY rarely do they ever call the actual vendor. They can't charge you a return OR restocking fee because it was never out processed or shipped so that would be illegal. If problems like that persist then it would be wise to seek some legal help, contact the police in their state and file a complaint, contact the better business beareau, or call their suppliers and make them aware what is being done....

I agree, but vendors can challenge a protest. I placed an order with RPM Outlet in May. My credit card was charged. I filed a protest because they shipped the wrong parts. I received a credit pending the resolution of the protest in June. In July, my account was charged again for the parts I had already returned to RPM Outlet because they showed the credit card company a copy of their "no refund" policy. They also showed where they had given me a credit for future purchases. I had to call a special department in the credit card company and talk directly to the person who reapplied the charge. She finally understood that I had never received the correct parts. The credit was reapplied in August. She told me that, depending on how RPM Outlet responded, the charge may be re-applied to my account.
She made it clear to me that the customer service representative that told me to use the return authorization was wrong. They had no authority to overrule store policy.

I'm sorry but your credit card company has issues. I was ripped off by a purchase that came as "wrong item" and AMEX didn't even ask me questions, just gave me credit and I didn't even have to return the item.

I had an issue with something I bought on Amazon.com once. The guy kept telling me his "business" shipped it but couldn't get me a tracking number. My HSBC Mastercard didn't even ask. They just refunded the charge off of my card. Like 5 days later the item came.
