There's one thing in which both local shops I got to agreed on... The only broken oil pumps they've seen it's been with the NON-piggy back style like steeda's... For that reason, they prefer the piggy back style to keep the right "balance" and pressure. Yes there is some parasitic loss due to the extra weight, but still worth keeping it safe. That's what I've heard.

Interesting for sure. I came to them asking them for a non-piggy back to get rid of mine and they both told me the same...
I'm keeping the BBK AC gave me!

This is the way I see it, though it's just my opinion on this:
Steeda = Works exclusively with Ford BBK = Doesn't Therefore I trust that Steeda knows what's appropriate for the 4.6 set-up, and what's not appropriate or harmful. That's just how I see it though, but it's all opinion. |

Now I'm afraid to put fuel in my car....
Does ford makes it's own fuel? :wink Just because they only work with Ford doesn't mean they are the best at it. In fact, I would feel more comfortable with knowing that the parts I buy are trusted by more than just Ford owners. Trust me, Ford is not the best out there, I'm sure you know.... I respect your opinion BTW. I'm must throwing mine out there as well.

i've been running a set of March piggy-back style UDP's for about a year and i haven't had any issues with them at all.

I understand that, but i'm just saying that since they work with Ford, they obviously get a better idea of what will work well on Ford Vehicles. Now I understand other company's may know a thing or 2 also, but Steeda kinda gets a closer look, and has the inside scoop on things. But do what ya want bro, it's all good man.

I've been running Steeda udp on my 98 for a few years with no problems. Now I also Steeda pullies on my 06. A great mod in my opinion, better mpg and better rwhp.

you won't have overheating problems because the steeda UDP's have a bigger water pump pulley to compensate for the underdrive. The Mach's have the same size alternator pulley as the steeda kit so I doubt you will have alternator issues either. The mods that free up horsepower are some of the best because they let the engine spin up easier, i.e. light weight flywheel, udp's, etc
