Painted headlights
When I bought my GT it had these ugly projector lights on it. I really wanted to go back to a stock smoked headlight but instead of paying out the cash I decided to just paint the inside of mine. I think it turned out okay, it'll work until I get some different headlights. What do ya'll think?

First remove your headlights from the car. Take out all the bulbs. Heat your oven to about 275 degrees. Get a cookie sheet and place a wet towel on it. Then put a headlight on the cookie sheet and place it in the oven for 4 or 5 minutes. Once it's hot you can pry the lens from the light assembly, just make sure you pry the 3 tabs up first. There's one on top and two on bottom. You only have to pry these up enough to slip past the clip. After you get them apart you can paint the inside however you want. My lights had a plastic piece that came out and that's what I painted black. I use a high temp spray paint because they can get pretty hot with you headlights on. Make sure you sand anything you are going to paint, and tape off anything you don't want painted.

After everything is painted and dry, you can start reassembling it. Clean off any old adhesive from the lights and lens. To put them back together I use a high temp RTV silicone. Just put a good bead all the way around the headlight and press the lens back into place. Allow some time to dry before you put them back on.

If I remember correctly the stripes were part of a special edition that only occured in 2000. It was called the spring feature mustang. Dont know the number made though.

Yeah mine's a spring feature GT. it came with the hood scoop (it's the same as the 35th anniversary hood scoop), different side scoops (that model year they had the flat ones on regular gt's), black lettering for the rear bumper, GT hood stripes, and unique wheels which I'm pretty sure is just different center caps. There were only 3091 of them produced.
