Turbo Timer
You guys over here on the PI side seem to be a little more "turbo savy" so I need some info if you please. I can't figure what I need to do to install a Full Auto Turbo Timer. All I know is that it will need a power source, ignition wire, e-brake wire, and a ground. But where to find these wires is what I can't figure out and where the best place to tap them is.

I'd worry about getting the turbo first, if you spend enough on a turbo im sure you can wait in your car for a minute for it to cool down

A turbo timer is not necessary. Just let the car idle for a minute after you have been beating on the car.

Just sit and wait?? So what ahppens when you are in a rush from one place to another and you get there and have to sit in your car for another minute? I'm spending the time and the money to build my own kit so I figure a $60 investment in a timer wouldn't be a bad idea...
Please don't read this as me being a dick...I really am asking what if you're in a rush?? What would be considered "beating on it" in order to let it cool for a bit (besides going to the track)??

If you get a turbo that is oil and coolant cooled you can usually get away with not having a turbo timer. You can take a tip from WRX's and mount a coolant resorvoir at a higher point than the turbo then you don't need a timer.

My turbo is only cool only. I've decided that I'm going to buy one and figure it out, because I have seen ALOT of people post on other forums asking how to do it and no one seems how to know how to. I really don't feel like pulling up somewhere and having to sit in my car for 2 minutes because I'm "too cheap" to buy a timer or "too lazy" to figure out how to install it. It makes sense to get one after doing a few hours of reading about it. I just need to figure out which ignition wire to tap into, all the other wires are pretty much self explainatory. 1 to a 12v constant, 1 to the e-brake, 1 to ground, 1 to your light dimmer, and 1 to you ignition. If anyone happens to know which wire is you main ignition power wire, like one that I guess you would hook a "push to start" button on please let me know. Thanks everyone for the input thus far!

the turbo is to hot from spinning and it can damage the turbo and also cause a fire.

I've been talking to turbolx for a little bit. He gave me a good site that explained the set up of the timer, but not "mustang specific". I know it isn't a "must have" and most people don't have one, but I prefer to. I'll just call some turbo shops when I get back in the country...
