Fo sho...

The "good stuff" can be obtained at a window/glass place. They sell it by the yard. I spent $35 on my car and the film won't turn purple in 1 year from the sun...

Where in the hell do you live that it's so cheap? Before I had my clutch issue, I was calling tint places in the area and the cheapest was $189+ tax. I would love to pay $125.
Is that for 2 front, to rear quarter, and back window? I got a price quote for me, excluding the fronts. 140
Yup. Everything except the windshield.
I wouldn't recommened getting the front sides tinted NBK, because here in NY some people say it's legal for us, but according to DMV it's only legal to get the rear & rear passenger sides tinted, they can be as dark as you want though. The front Driver & Passenger side they say you can be ticketed if caught. Thats why i'm just gonna stick to the three back windows being tinted. If you want a high quality tint job done though call The Tint Wizard. He does great work.

In North Carolina .. but my buddy with the 03 whipple cobra .. his brother owns a tinting business .. he uses far supieror film than most places ... I just payed for the material ... but normal costs for the mustang is 125 .. There are tons of tint places in the area ... some are upwards of 185 .. but most are in the 125 135 range ...

If you don't tint all the windows .. in a comparable light sequence .. i.e. 20 out back and 30-35 for the front with a visor strip the tint looks rediculous IMO .. 20 % all the way around usually passes everywhere and looks good .. i've had way too many cars with 5% and I'll never do that again .. just too dark and too much trouble ..

It all depends on where you live. Around here in NY I have never gotten a ticket on any of my cars that I got tinted with 2 1/2 - 5% tint on all rear windows. But the moment I tinted the front 2, which was only 35%, and I ended up getting a bundle of tickets, so I went to DMV and thats when I found out it's not legal, and thats why I was getting tickets. They said the back passeger & rear can be as dark as you want, on the windshield you can tint 6" down from the top of the glass as dark as you want, but it can't be mirror if considered a distraction, and the front driver & pass side are illeagal to tint by NY state law. So I listened to their advice and haven't gotten any tickets or had any problems since. And i'll take their advice over anyone not living in NY, nor knowing what our laws are. I just personally rather refrain from tickets, so obeying at least some laws is worth it.

I never heard of that NYS law before. I'm not saying it's not true, I've just never heard it. My friends Stang has 5% all the way around and he gets pulled over occasionally but rarely ticketed. I'm getting 20% all the way around. I like the look of it. 35% is kind of pointless to me, but that's the legal limit. You also live up in Glens Falls where the cops are 9 times out of 10 assholes. The only time you get pulled over for that up this way is if you are doing something stupid like burnouts in the road or you are acting "suspiciously" and they want a reason. I don't go to Glens Falls anymore so I'm not too worried. Thanks though.

No problem man! They say it can vary by area, but they stated at DMV that this tint law is inforced in most areas and so you can get a ticket, and so I decided to go by it. But maybe down there it's ok, and your right about our cops up here. Saratoga is the same way, if you go downtown here or in Saratoga, expect to get pulled over for something. Because they will try to find a reason to pull you over, hence the reason I don't go downtown.

I clubbed in Saratoge from the time I was 18 a few months before until I started dialysis. Saratoga cops never bothered me. If you act like you have some sense most of them are pretty reasoneable, of course there are those few that think they are cowboys. You can't do anything wrong in the village though. They will nab you for the littlest thing down there especially during track season.

You were lucky then. Me and my boys use to get tickets in Downtown Saratoga alot, and same goes for Lake George & South Glensfalls. I think alot of it has to do with racist cops, and always thinking we had drugs or alcohol. We didn't help the cause either by getting in fights all the time and pretty much telling the cops where to go, and giving them the finger. So we were kinda asking for trouble, but once we got outta that trouble starting shit, it seems like the cops targetd us just for the hell of it, even it we didn't even do shit.

It is illegal in most states, including NY, to tint the front windows below 35%. That's why factory only "tints" (privacy glass) the rear ones. I know this for a fact! $185 fine in Boston for violating some federal DOT law bull crap that the officer was telling me about. Now, here in FL, I've seen front windshields tinted up! My tuner for example. The heat here is extreme, cops don't really waste their time on it.

I got pulled by a nc state trooper when i had my truck .. he said pull the tint off the windsheild now or i'll arrest you .. needless to say i whipped out the pocket knife .. got a edge and ripped the tint off .. man was i pissed though .. haha .. had to wait til I got home to clean all the glue off .. which was harder to see through than the tint itself .. then I had to go spend more money on tint to re do it lol ... fl is def. easier to get by on .. got pulled on 4 between orlando and daytona beach .. said nothing other than here's your ticket for speed

I know about the front window law, just never heard the one about the front two. I was always under the impression that as long as those two were tinted the legal limit you were fine. The one time I was in my boys car and we got pulled over he started mouthing off and the cop was looking around the car for extra reasons to give tickets. You checked the tint and said it was too dark, but no that it was illegal to have it on the door windows.

Sorry 02StangGToWNEr but it sounds like you deserve what you are getting. You don't think cops forget faces easily do you. They know you and your friends and your cars. You gave yourself the label of being a trouble maker. Can'y really blame anyone else for that. You gave themm shit a while ago now they give you shit when they see you. That's how it works.

I don't worry about it too much anymore, because I haven't gotten a ticket in about 5 or 6 years, and I don't really look the same anymore because of getting older, and I have had about 3 different cars or so since then, and even changed plates. We were young and just like any young guys, if we weren't getting in trouble, then trouble would always seem to find us.

I don't know the tint laws in your area. Once you figure that part out, tinting the windows is really easy but as a do-it-yourself type the process will be painfully slow compared to the guy who does it all day every day.

I've done all but my last few cars myself. It got to the point where it wasn't worth my time vs. what it cost to have it done. If you have the patience and a steady hand with the razor you can do it fine.

I have no experience tinting over those stupid dots. If you can get some experienced help there, go for it.
