magnaflow vs flowmaster

On any same car. which will perform better. the magnaflow with x pipe or the flowmaster with the x pipe. I know the flows sound better. I love the way the flowmasters sound but I have heard that the magnaflows perform better. whats the deal?

catbacks are all preferance dude...your not going to lose or gain any more than 2-3rwhp from choosing one over the other..get what sounds best its the midpipe and headers that count the most...id get flows because they are way more affordable and sound good..im actually struggling between bassani and flowmasters

the magnaflow cat back will be a tad better because it is a strait through type muffler and the flow master is a chamberd type that dose not flow as well

magnaflows sound bad ass. i am a magnaflow fan and would recommend them. i personally dont like the chokemasters, but it is a matter of personal preference.

Not all Magnaflows are straight through, only the Magnapacks.

Flows are so timid sounding to me. They are like a better sounding version of stock exhaust. I also have the Magnapacks and love them but they are not for eveyone. If you love the sound of Flows you won't like Magnapacks .Try Borla Stingers! They sound sick as hell!

try pypes violator catback... they sound most like bassani, which is an awsome sound for a stang. they're very very affordable, they whole reason i got em was b/c i heard 2 stangs at the track one with bassani o/r x and bassani catback, and the other pypes o/r x and pypes violator catback, they sounded the exact same in tone, but the bassani was very very slightly louder.

The only pypes set up that I heard that I liked was AC's and that's because he had heads and cams. They are very inexpensive though.

It all depends on the sound you like. You think that flows sound great, but Magnapacks sound nothing like them. There are plenty of set ups that sound good, but it depends on how you want the car to sound, not what we like. i love my Magnapacks but there are guys on here that had them and got rid of them.

I have a Bassani O/R X and Magnapacks. If you really get the Mch 1 you may also want to look into Borla Stingers. They sound quite good.

Ohhhh yeah! That's it baby That's the sound I was after thanks for the link man. So let me get this straight, the catback system just replaces the exhaust pipes after the cats correct? So what's all this talk about xpipes ypipes o/r (i know what that means).

I guess I should rephrase that, what is the difference between x, h, and y pipes. These are the midpipes people are talking about right? They come catted and o/r right?

X pipe = Best flow, loss of some low end torque, but more top end power, only raspy if you exhaust sucks.
H pipe = Gain low end torque to help with launching, deeper tone.
Y pipe = Only on V6.
