Some questions on DTC P0190 (Fuel rail pressure sensor)
I was at around 1/8 tank of gas today, and floored the gas from around 55-65. Suddenly, my car cut out for a split second (let off the gas), which really is not all that unusual when I'm that low on gas. This time, my check engine light came on. I drove 13 or so miles and pulled my codes and got P190. I reset the code, drove about 20 miles, and it has not come back on. My car is acting fine, and is showing no symptoms whatsoever.
However, my question is what could be causing this. Obviously, my check engine light shouldn't come on because my car is low on gas and I hit the gas. Before anyone asks, my fuel filter is only about 5,000 miles old, I'm having no symptoms at all, and I have the stock fuel pump. My car is only doing maybe 300-315hp though.

Re: Some questions on DTC P0190 (Fuel rail pressure sensor)
That code is for the fuel rail pressure sensor. It reports to the PCM how much is in the fuels rails.Returnless fuel systems are designed to reduce a vehicle's evaporative emissions by supplying an engine with only the fuel it needs, and no more. Because the system lacks a return line, all fuel that's pumped from the tank to the injectors must lie used. Since an engines fuel requirements change with load, the system has to have a way of increasing or decreasing the fuel pressure and volume supplied. Otherwise, there would be times when the engine would receive too much fuel, as well as times when it would not receive enough. So basically ,you had little gas, stomped on the pedal ,shifted the contents of the tank and starved the system aka lean. Sorry if I sound a little shitty, but come on man. Saying " my car cut out for a split second (let off the gas), which really is not all that unusual when I'm that low on gas. " ....is non sense. Your car shouldnt be cutting out like that. You need to keep more fuel in the tank for this and other reasons.
