Intake manifolds?

I was looking into getting an intake manifold for my 99 gt. So far ive found the trick flow version for $800 and the typhoon intake for about 600...how much will i benefit in hp from this mod? ive also heard that the intake manifolds for this car arent really full proof yet. what do you think?

Not sure about the gains, but I don't think it'll be a dramatic increase. If you do buy one though, go with Trick Flow. Typhoon sucks, I have heard too many horror stories with their brand.

you have to have enough stuff done on a 4.6 2v to really be able to utilize an intake manifold change. the more you have done, the better gains you will get. if you dont have much done, then wait on that and invest the money else where.

+1

It's just like I thought, a very small increase because of the lack of power/mods.

I prefer the Bullitt intake Manifold. I can't wait to get it P&P and see what gain.

i think an intake manifold isnt worth it for the little gains you might see unless you have heads and all that and ive heard the fitment on most of the aftermarket ones are garbage

Cams are a must before an intake imo

They would efinitely help you see bigger gains, but I don't think they are a must.

cams would help a lot, but to really make them worth while is having a power adder. dont get me wrong, if you want one and have the money go for it. but there is power to be made besides the intake manifold.

ive been holding out on long tube headers because they are so expensive with the install. but yes of course heads and cams are on my list...im just looking for less expensive mods. What other mods could i get for more power excluding what i already have, heads cams, forced induction or headers...i know there are more smaller mods.

the pi intake is actually a vcery well designed manifold, it would be better if it was plastic. if they made one that wouldnt explode on a nitrous backfire, it would be awsome, becasue ti truely is a grweat design
