programmer

What is the best programmer you can get for the $. Everyone talks about Diablo but they seem pretty high. Don't they all pretty much do the same thing. And what kind of gains are you seeing?

either SCT of Diablo.

they are both great tuners.

I suggest you see what your local speed shop tunes with before you buy one.

gains depend on mods.

an SCT claims 19rwhp on a stock 99-04 GT

+1 I say go with what your tuner likes/uses. I use SCT and like it, but I've never used a Diablo.

I don't know about them, but SCT XCal 2 is only a little more than that.

Go on their website and find a local tuning shop. Usually if you buy from them they'll throw in some good tunes. I bought mine locally here in TX.

They both are good. It's just a matter of personal preference and what you can get tuned local.

My local shop does PCM tunes for $125 but I'd just like to have my own so every time I do a mod I don't have to have it retuned.

If you buy a handheld it also has features like datalogging, which you won't get with a PCM tune from that shop.

American Muscle has SCT for $380 and Diablo for $400. Looks like I've got some research to do!

There's not a dealer locally at least for xcal so I'd have to order it online.
