long tubes won't be any lower than a pair of sub-frames. You should be fine, in reality, they match the position of the rear cats... (that's on my car) I have tubular sub-frames.

Now, with the long tubes, the first time no mods, I gained 2 HP and lost 3 lbs of tq. That was with stock TB/plenum and just a K&N filter. After the TB/Plenum and CAI I gained 21 HP and 29 TQ on the same tune. After re-tuning I ended at a gain of 28 HP and 32 TQ. Def the long tubes helping out.

The shorties will create more "back flow" so you might get more torque, but up top they are crap. Now with the long tubes, like Chris said, with the blower or the spray you can really feel the difference! The flow is just perfect, so if you're going to spend the money, do it right, get long tubes if you can.

Great brand, no real performance benefit. Go long.

They have some of the benefits of LT headers and some of the benefits of shorty headers.

I was going with shorties until i read this thread.... now i am also curious about mids.... i live in CA so smog is a HUGE deal. It will all depend on your smog laws.. every state is diff. Some only do visual inspections, others hook up to your computer and take a sniffer reading. if your state isnt that strict on smog i would say LT for sure...but i dont know about mids...

I would go with a complete Bassani exaust from the mids to the tail pipes. That would be a high tech, emmisions legal, expensive, awesome sounding exhaust.

Just read it from another site, the mid length headers are for O/R use only in CA. Sorry! You might get away with it if the inspector didn't really know the difference.
