window wont go up
so i left my windows open yesterday and it started sprinkling. i ran outside to put them up and my right window worked fine and went right up, left window doesnt work at all. although the control panel on the door got a little wet, im not sure if its the motor just shitting out or because water got into the buttons? the left side window has been moving slower than the right one when going up since i got the car.
another note to add is that today when i went outside to check if any water got in my car overnight i was playing with the broken window and noticed that when i hit down, theres a click as if it tries to go down but nothing when i hit up. is this because there is an UP and DOWN motor? |

Could be two things....
1. Coincidence and the motor just got stuck (very common) or the window got derailed. 2. Got some water in the switch and it's shorting out. You can try kicking/punching the crap out of the door to see if the motor un-clicks/releases. or, For a more civilized form, you can take the panel off and see what's wrong with the glass itself. Either way, if you take the panel off you can just tap the motor a few times and it might let go and work fine again. If you hear a click, the fuse is not blown.

My passenger window started giving me problems a while ago, although the driver-side controls dont roll it up, they roll it down...But the controls on the passenger side door roll it up and down. Im thinking obviously I have to replace either a wire or two on the driver side door controls or just one of the buttons...along with the seatbelts in these things I know they can be a pain after a short time...cause the stock interior things they use in these cars have just been carried over for years and years and from the factory...they suck.

ok thx for all the info everyone i have a few more questions. a point i left out was over the last couple weeks when i close my door the little panel that contains all the buttons has been partially coming off and i simply hit it back in to place. seems as though the problem may be a connection? how would i go about taking the entire panel off and all that, is it hard/easy? im not mechanically enclined so rather than jsut sayin its easy can someone give me an idea as to how I would go about it? only thing i could see right away that would be easy is to take off that little panel with the buttons on it but obviously its connected to something so i cant just rip it off correct? |
