Current mod list with mods soon to be put on. and a ?

Installed:
Catted X-Pipe
Manapacks Catback
CAI
SCT x-cal (Coming Soon)

Purchased.....sitting in garage.
Hooker Longtubes
3.73's

I hope to have the lt's and gears installed before the end of the year.

My Goal:
I want to build a nice car I'm not setting a RWHP goal I'm setting a Car Goal I want to be faster than Corvette c5 and I want to be able to stay within three links of a viper........Just to 90 mph.

Here's The question:
Are Cams, Heads and exhaust hp mods That Won't hurt me?

For example: Take a stock gt And run a intercooled 9 psi supercharger on with a good tune. Let's say this makes 380RWHP.

If You add Cams, Heads And a full exhuast You will be well over 450RWHP is that still Safe hp?

450 rwhp is too much on a 2v gt motor. You will need to forge the bottom end if that is a target goal in mind. If you just run the boost you should be fine but putting the gt around that much power is risky. You run the risk of ruining the motor. Its tuff to keep up with the vettes even if their stock and your blown. Also depends on the type of race whether from a roll or from a stop. Also when you get these things done make sure to get a good tune

you can add the cams and heads and still make less power, but why spend the money on them when you should go ahead and forge the bottem end, and just up the boost a lot. itll gain more for aorund the same money as doing ehads and cams. then later on you can do the h/c package and really take advantage of them. and not have to pull timing and boost to keep under a certian power.

you should be able to keep up wiht c5 vettes with the supercharger but the viper is another story. ive raced a couple and get raped. i havnt raced them on the spray yet but they smoke me on motor

Well I assume To hang with a viper I'd have to push over 550 to the wheels

a Dad got this 18 yr old girl i know A viper......So yeah.

And I would like to forge but I just don't what all goes into that.
Give me an estimate on what it would cost to forge my Engine.

you could beat the viper with 450 hp with the right suspension and tires. as for forging you could do it for around 2 grand if you do it right. keep the compresison around 9.5:1 with a centri blower with some good forged pistons and manhley h beam forged rods.

you will never hang with a viper a n/a

maybe a c5 with enough work

max you can get n/a is around 340. code03gt is n/a but with a built block stage 3 heads and cams and made 340 on a mustang dyno. also he increased displacement to 283. thats a hell of a lot cash in that car. going blown is the only way youll beat or hang with a viper

my mods are in sig. over winter adding stage 2 cams, shorty headers,P&P heads. should be right around 300 rwhp

hope that helps

If it's already an auto make it a built auto. A built auto can outrun a stick. A nice shift kit and the right tune will help out alot.
