model year question

A guy at my day job has an 04 GT.. he told me recently he dyno'd at abcdyno in northeast georgia and that he got 354 and he said all he has done is an intake and x pipe.. (i assume this is at the flywheel, im not sure).. that is with the final tune.. i asked him how that was possible and he said that the 04 GT came with better heads and ignition coils or something.. he seemed to know what he was talking about but i didn't obviously because i didn't know there was a difference for the GT in 04.. i was aware of the increase in .1 liter of the v6 but that was it.. any input is appreciated

he is pulling things out of his ass, and well there is no way in hell ever 354 at the flywheel. I would say 254 is m uch more realistic!!

Ok. Wow I didn't know that, I always thought it was a 3.8 until 05 with the 4.0. So what did they do change it for the final year of the 99-04 bodystyle???

My first stang was a 3.9L V6 and there is no difference between the 3.8 and the 3.9. I guess that is what the V6s were called in Canada or something. Anyway they are the same exact engine. I put a 3.9 badge on the back and I used to tell other V6 owner mine was faster because it was an anniversary edition.

Nope. He's full of it! The Anniversary editions only had visual changes. Nothing under the hood.
