31 spline axles have a higher spline count soo they wont strip or twist out and are usually made of stronger material. I put 31spine axles, Auburn Pro 31 spline diff adn 4.10s in mine to withstand what ever I can throw at it. If your car has a stock diff then it has 28 spline axles. Spoline count on the transmission side of your drive shaft doens't mean anything. Now a higher spline count on a input shaft for clutches is a better thing.
