Question about camshaft

Ok I am in the market for a new cam .... my current mods are intake, headers, prochamber, flowmasters, 3.73 gears, helix throttle body spacer, and granetelli ignition coils. I'm looking at the following cam:

This Comp Cams Xtreme Energy XE262AH Camshaft is designed for the 1999-2004 4.6L 2V engine (Performance Improvement Head vehicles) and provides excellent torque - better low and mid range torque with more power. Will work with stock computer. Valve springs recommended (Part #26113-16)

Duration @ .050 - 226 (intake) / 230 (exhaust)
Advertised Duration - 262 (intake) / 266 (exhaust)
Valve Lift @ 1.825:1 ratio - .550 (in/ex)
Lobe seperation angle - 113 degrees (in/ex)

I also understand I would need new valvesprings I guess?

Anyways ... for a daily driver but sometimes hittin up the track kinda car is this a good cam to go with and if so what kinda changes can i expect from this (1/4 mile, power, gas mileage, etc.)? Help would greatly be appreciated

I like Crower stage-3, they have a history with Ford products, but than I'm old school. The high lift wont work with stock pistions,

Will this cam work without having to change anything besides the valve springs?

i dont think you have to with those... not 100% sure, but you could just in case. nothing else is needed parts wise. you will need a tune

gas milage shouldnt change too much. prolly pick up around 3 tenths give or take

If you're in doubt you can always call comp cams to make sure you're not gonna screw your car

comp 262's and vt stage 1's are the most widely used and best( i think) for a d/d with stock heads

im going vt stage 2 because im having my heads P&P

Dumb question but what does polishing and porting your heads accomplish and how much does that cost? Is it better just to by stage 2 heads instead for like $800 ... it says it adds 35-40 hp ... I'm doing something with the heads down the road I just don't know what.

Porting and polishing is all about improving flow of the a/f mixture in to the cylinders.

It's a cheaper way of increasing the airflow of your heads instead of buying new heads.

Yea the heads I was looking at were a little under 800 bucks and they were 218/193 which is a little better then the 200/180 porting listed for a little under 700

I would just have them ported locally, you'll get much better quality as long as the person knows what they are doing. As far as cams, I've heard lots of good things about the Crowers.
