8 rib pulley swap info

just incase anyone is going to do this swap...you can get all the pulleys off a ford f150 i believe 98 and up, however the alternator and idlers wont work unless you get a alternator off the truck or cobra and do a few other things. you can get all the pulleys from ford and vortech will sell you individually what you need to complete it alternator and idlers. everyone else wanted to sell me the whole kit and wouldnt break it down to just what i needed. i dont know how much of this makes sense cause i typed it fast. but basically buy everything from ford and get the idlers and alternator pulley from vortech, unless you have a vortech blower then get everything from vortech. blahhh iim done

Any chance of getting the part numbers for this from the ford parts you bought?

I need to do this swap myself...

Yeah G.I Joe 8 Rib Set-Up

Its cheaper to go with the ford pulleys and just buy the idler and blower pulleys from vortech...

I dont have his # on me, but you need to call Liberty Ford in Maryland. Ask for Randy Stinchcomb. That is who I went through for my setup. Came with absolutely everything I needed, except for the blower pulley, which I got from Procharger. Everything was @ $350.00

When it comes to pulleys and idlers, I would stick to OEM Ford.

the truck ford oem pulley wont fit on a gt alternator. the truck pulley on the back has a lip that slides into the alternator same as the cobras. the gts alternator pulley isnt designed like that. to make it work you have to get the front cover from a truck, alternator and a couple other little things. most of these kits use ford oem pulleys accept for the idlers and alternator. unless there is antoher ford vehicle you can get them off of that i dont know about.

Randy's # is 410-655-2000

If you dont buy them from him, he will at least give you the part #s. Then you can post them up here and anybody with a local Ford part hookup can get them....Then everyone would have a resource here to find that kind of info.

So do you have to do an A/C delete when you convert? Or does that pulley change out as well?
