Accufab has Dyno charts to prove it, thats why. And if you look at the comparisions that have been done, the Accufab has always come out on top as the best performing. So thats why.
On the average only 2-3 nore hp. Hardly worth 2-3 times the price.

I have a cheap Professional products plenum and tb, and they have been great.
205 shipped for both.

Well I make 515 with stock heads intake and my cheap tb/plenum combo at only 11-12psi.

I saved almost enough on the tb/plenum over accufab. that I paid for my intercooler which picked up 40hp.

Maybe your right that money would haved been better invested in the accufab?

in your case no.

but now if you add that Accufab to your current set up you will see MORE power than you do now.

5 more

I would rather put that 250 toward an 8 rib set up

5more is 5 more

like I said.

for SERIOUS racers every little bit counts.

could have cost him an extra 300 for the Accufab.. but that extra 5HP as small as it might be gave him the edge to win the race

i have ran gms stuff, and a few friends run a lot of their stuff as well. we havent had any problems with anything, but that just may be us. all plenums are not the same, and that is why price isnt either. accufab is the best, but all the others are good as well. a p&p plenum will flow pretty damn close to an aftermarket if done correctly.

you talkin about t/b's or plenums. t/b's are pretty much identical, very few things different here and there. design of the plenum is what makes power, certain characteristics of the plenum will help or hurt the air flow. it is a little more vital in the plenum because of the 90 degree bend into the intake manifold.

+1

Serious racers will buy everything, including a TB Spacer for that 1 extra HP.

And hooker headers cost 300$ more than macs
And Jlt CAI Cost 100$ more than bbk
And Ford Racing Gears cost 50$ more than.......those other guys

And don't get me started on:

UDP'S
Superchargers (Powerdyne is cheap)
Tires

I guess The only "Cheap" Thing that doesn't change much is the brand of Mid pipe or muffler You get
