motor with 100k+

I have a 2001 mustang gt 5 speed. It has 105k miles on it but still runs perfect. I was going to put vt stage 2 heads and cams along with a stroker kit from them on my motor. Question is should i just save up and do this to a mach 1 motor because i have that option if i wait...or would the motor i have now hold up to this as long as i replace the springs and anything else that need to be replaced.......im not sure what all would need to be replaced so please help me out.

youll be fine, no reason to go to the 4v motorless your wanting to make a ton of power. the mach motor can only handle the same power as the gt motor can stock for stock, but it has a lot more potential.

your motor will be fine as long as you replace the valve springs

you could do it just fine with your GT motor.

I would wait if you have the chance to get a Mach motor though

If the option is available to you I would build the Mach 1 motor until you kill the 2V. By then you should have saved enough money to make the 4V forged with all the goodies. After that all you have to do is throw a serious boost of nitrous on it, SC or even a turbo if you can afford it. This way if the 2V dies on you you'll already have a better built back up ready to go.

First the DOHC motor just has that more to brake. You have a well seasoned bolck so go with it. I tore mine down 99K SOHC and it miked out to factory specs! Do get it blue printed and add some forged stuff and a good blancing job. It's the starting point of any good motor!

Why tear down the motor? Supercharge it and run it till it needs rebuilt.

one thing is that the only thing i like better about the 2v motors over the 4v is that the 2v is more responsive but the 4v creates more power then the 2v

also the mach 1 motor is the same exact motor as the cobra motor just its natualy asparated and its not hand built

but what i would do is i would just throw on a kb on your 2v and just beat the balls out of it till it broke then i would fix what broke and do it again but thats just me

+1

Drive the 2V until it dies, then go on to the 4V.
