white smoke normally indicated a head gasket/ low coolant.

black smoke normally indicates burning oil.

if you have a bad head gasket it will smoke an assload under WOT.

Double check your oil. I blew a head gasket on a old Dodge once. I ended up with anti-freeze in the oil. Not good.

from the sounds of it i think you may have blown an oil ring and a rod bearing at the same time.. i'd definately get it looked at and get a compression test done.

if it is a head gasket the smoke will smell like antifreeze and it will over heat.

White smoke is oil black smoke is an over rich mixture. Check your oil if it is milky gray you losing coolent into the oil pan. you can warm up the car ease the coolant cap off re start the car if it is bubbling up in the over flow tank you blew a head gasket. You can also go to a repair shop and they can put a gauge on the coolant tank and tell if you putting gas or ehsaust into the coolant tank. Good luck

actually oil is like a white blue mix in the smoke and white is coolant getting into the cylinders but Bob17830 is right you wanna do a compression test if it shows low compression that will explain why you are losing that power

Re: Smoke??!!

Okay so explain this one.... my GT does the same thing but only after it's warm and it sits at idle a min or two and you take off abruptly it smokes pretty good. It's not carbon, i wish! Rather it's oil because it uses oil. I ran compression on the bastard and oddly enough cyl's 5-8 were at 172-176lbs and 1-4 as follows, 168/165/142/137. It's not losing coolant or running hot or even badly persay; it does not feel like it's lost power, or maybe it has because it's been like this so long maybe I don't notice? I am thinking damaged/cracked/broken ring(s). Thoughts???
