Gettin a CAI tonight but i have a quick question...
Ok well in about an hour or so i'm buying a JLT cai via american muscle, the question i have is... after i install it, will it really give me a better engine/throttle sound? will i really be able to feel the extra 10 or so horses?

i kno wat ur sayin... but say ur 18, u make $7/hr, u have to pay for 1/2 insurance every 3 months (parents pay other 1/2), and have to pay for gas, which is alot conisdering my salary... and i happen to have an extra $300 sitting around, would you buy it, now that you know what effects it has?

for the time being... if you are trying to squeeze every ounce of hp out then sure... its worth it. On the other hand an ebay CAI will not be but $50, and produce may 2-3 WHP less than the JLT
you have to weigh your options though... for that money, you could have a set of Ford Racing 4.10's at your front door too... just save a little more for installation, or find someone to help you

Very true... I hear all this hype about the JLT and how much better a carbon fiber cai is compaired to an aluminum one. I know its b/c it just doesnt get as hot, but say i do order an ebay piece of crap, how will that work with my MAF and all, will i have to use my stock? b/c i know, well i think the JLT comes with a MAF right?

the JLT doesn't come with a MAF. it has an adapter to let it fit the stock MAF or an aftermarket MAF. and the JLT CAI relocates the MAF to the fenderwell.

no.... you use your stock MAF with both the ebay ones & the JLT
I ran a EBAY aluminum CAI on my car for over a year... and when i installed my JLT... i felt zero difference don't get me wrong, I love my JLT RAI, and it sure does look good... but when comparing the two power wise, there is minimal power difference

the Carbon Fiber one is just lighter.. thats all.
the JLT doesn't come with a maf. you use your own maf. overall the JLT is an great mod.

Buy a JLT CAI and then save for some UDP's...
With the intake mods you already ahve you will benefit with the CAI...But dont expect it to make your car a new car... |
